Car Accident

November 11th, 2009

In today’s society, getting from one place to another is almost as important as what you do when you get there. Being late just simply isn’t an option any more. Consequently it’s no surprise the number of cars worldwide has grown faster in the last 20 years than at any other point in time. Improvements in technology and manufacturing practices means cars will become ever cheaper, and the numbers will inevitably continue to grow.

In a society so reliant upon cars then, it’s only a matter of time before an accident will happen. Indeed you’re more likely to be involved in a car accident than any with any other form of transport. Similarly car accidents are more common than every day accidents like paper cuts and construction accidents.

Most of the time auto accidents aren’t you’re fault. Being hit while waiting at a roundabout or when waiting at a traffic light are just every day incidents associated with driving. When you’ve had an accident and aren’t to blame, it’s possible to claim compensation. This means you’ll get money to cover the personal injury you might have suffered, and will be able to make an insurance claim to gain cover for the damage done to your car!

In order to file an insurance claim or personal injury claim, you need a special form of solicitor called an injury lawyer, or accident attorney. These individuals specialise in injury law and are incredibly knowledgeable. The good news is that most injury lawyers work on a “no win no fee” basis, so if they don’t get you any money you don’t have to pay them!

One of the most common injuries associated with a car accident is whiplash. This is when the impact is enough to make your neck jolt forward and back at speed, thereby damaging the spine to differing degrees. Whiplash can be extremely painful, and depending on the size of impact, can take months to recover from. If you have been involved in an accident and believe you have whiplash, first consult a doctor and then get on the phone to your accident attorneys to get that compensation!

The bottom line is that accidents are becoming more and more likely in a society so dependent on cars. Make sure you are covered in terms of car insurance and personal injury insurance. Keep that injury lawyer number close to hand!
